Training purely according to FTP is like gambling. We know that every body has a very individual performance and metabolic profile. Therefore, find out now in which training zones you are optimally active and set meaningful stimuli. For maximum output!

Kickass Metabolics

KICKASS FAQ
With Kickass Metabolics you can determine your individual physiological performance, determine your metabolic profile and gain a detailed insight into the metabolic processes in your body. You will receive all the results in a PDF file including an explanation by voice message from our coaches. If you book the Metabolics Premium, we will discuss your evaluation in an individual 1:1 call.
Basically, it makes sense to determine your metabolic profile at any time – regardless of whether you are a beginner and do not yet know your training zones, whether you want to check your performance progress during the process and adjust it if necessary, or whether you want to prepare your pacing specifically for the competition. The aim is to adapt your training to your individual performance – in other words, to control the intensity of each session in a targeted manner, but also to ensure that you are optimally nourished. Caution: you should be well rested and healthy for the test.
For the Kickass Metabolics, we don’t need a complex laboratory set-up – you can simply carry out the diagnostics at home. Thanks to our experience and scientific knowledge, we can use the test files we receive from you to calculate your training zones and create your metabolic profile. This is more accurate than a standardized FTP test!
Maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max), maximum lactate formation rate (VLamax), anaerobic threshold, fat burning incl. FatMax, carbohydrate consumption incl. CarbMax, individual training zones.
This tells you exactly which zones apply to you and how your metabolic profile is set up.
You can perform the test either indoors on your Smarttrainer or outdoors. If you do the test indoors, we will provide you with a Zwift protocol that you can run through. Outside, you should have a suitable (flat) route with as little traffic and bends as possible.
It is best to carry out the test on a running track. If you do not have access to a track, look for a flat route with a good surface, if possible without traffic and as open an area as possible (houses and trees can interfere with the GPS signal) The test itself should ideally be carried out in windless and cloudless conditions.
If you want to complete the test indoors, you will need a Smart Trainer, a bike computer and a heart rate monitor (chest strap). For the outdoor test, you will need a power meter on your bike as well as a bike computer and heart rate monitor (chest strap).
You need a running watch with GPS and heart rate measurement (chest strap). If available, you can also use a running power meter.
No, there is no discount on performance diagnostics for athletes in Kickass Tri, Run or Bike Training – as we have already set the prices attractively low. If you are an athlete in Individual Coaching, performance diagnostics are included twice a year.
